On Tuesday morning, the earth shook in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. Two earthquakes were recorded between 9:27am and 9:29am. The strongest earthquake had a magnitude of 4.3 and occurred southwest of Russi, near Ravenna, at a depth of 23km. The second earthquake had a magnitude of 4.1 and had its epicenter about 8km east of Faenza, at a depth of 22km, as measured by INGV.

The two earthquakes were clearly felt by people in nearby cities, from Ravenna to Imola. After feeling the undulations of the earthquakes, several people took to the streets in fear. And in some schools in Cesena, students and staff were evacuated.

Civil Protection announced that no damage has been reported up to now, but train traffic has been temporarily halted for engineering checks on the Bologna-Rimini line, the Ferrara-Rimini line, the Castelbolognese-Ravenna line and the Faenza-Ravenna route.
