While social media inspires many vacationers, the MPBplatform, which specializes in the sale and purchase of photography and video equipment, has revealed the ranking of the most photogenic (and Instagram-worthy) French cities for 2026.
To compile this top 10 list, the platform relied on several key indicators: the number of hashtags on Instagram, the number of articles that associated the word “charm” with the city, and the number of photos of the city in question shared on Flickr, as reported by Le Figaro.
The Big Winner
Contrary to all expectations, it's neither Paris nor Brittany that takes the top spot on the podium, but rather Corte. The historic capital of Corsica—a small town of 7,700 residents—climbed to the top of the rankings thanks to the castle in its citadel, which offers a spectacular panoramic view. In addition, its proximity to the idyllic Restonica Gorges attracts many tourists every year.
The rest of the rankings
The Corsican town thus outranks other gems of France’s cultural heritage. The city of Avignon and its famous ramparts managed to climb to second place, closely followed by Carcassonne in third.
The rest of the rankings highlight equally picturesque destinations: Colmar just off the podium, Cassis and its sublime calanques in fifth place, and Menton, Èze, and Vannes in the following spots. Finally, Bonifacio and Bayeux round out the list, tying for ninth place.
