When it comes to furnishing your home, eco-friendly wallpaper is an excellent choice, especially if you live with children or sensitive people. Aesthetics, yes, but health first.

Ecological wallpaper improves air quality

Indoor air quality is a public health issue. Italians, for example, spend up to 90% of their day indoors, between home, work and transportation. By choosing low-emission wallcoverings and adhesives, you reduce exposure to volatile organic compounds such as benzene and formaldehyde, substances for which the ISS has set guide values and established monitoring strategies.

Eco-friendly wallpapers rely on traceable cellulose substrates, water-dispersed adhesives and low-odour inks to reduce emissions during the first few weeks after installation, when indoor concentrations tend to be higher.

Making the difference in emissions and durability

For covering your walls, the most common and durable combination is cellulose-based paper or TNT with powder or starch/cellulose-based paste adhesives.

In practice, we recommend the use of cellulose-based papers, adhesives and coatings with low VOC content and no added plasticizers.

For responsible fiber sourcing, look for the FSC or PEFC labels, which attest to sustainable forest management and traceability throughout the supply chain to the final product.
